Our Broodmares

Whether you want an English Hunter/Jumper, Western PleasureBarrel Racer, Roping Horse, Cow Horse, or even a Racing Quarter Horse,  we've got you covered, and with great conformation, pretty heads, and great pedigrees!

Del Lydian   TB

( we've had "Lydia" over 16 years!)

" I can make a General in five minutes, but a good horse is hard to replace."

--Abraham Lincoln

"Lydia" is a 1985  Registered Thoroughbred ex-racing mare,

that we cross with our Foundation Quarter Horse stud, "Bay Kee Bars", aka ,"Cody"  *,

for  registered Appendix Quarter Horses.

With that cross, we get what the old timers had in mind when they decided to let the Thoroughbred blood back into the Quarter Horse Assoc - a versatile athelete, with size, brains, heart, and stamina !

Lydia is a beautiful mare with a small pretty head, big round jaws, and a stocky build.  You won't find a prettier TB, anywhere !

NOTE: One of Lydia's daughters is listed with the

AAHA (American Appendix Horse Association), as an AAHA Foundation mare!

Lydia is a great granddaughter of

   Northern Dancer & Swaps,

 both Kentucky Derby winners !

Her pedigree reads like a Who's Who in TB Racing!

She is a 1985 model- so her blood is old TB blood

See her babies on the "Sold" Page.

After her racing days were over, "Del Lydian" was used for years in English Huntseat, and Trail Riding,  by our daughter, before retiring to a Broodmare.

She is sweet and easy going, and she passes those qualities on to her foals.  She has a smooth, easy trot that is a pleasure to ride.

When we crossed Lydian with the Watch Joe Jack line, we knew  we had hit on something!  Her foals are big, beautiful athletes with uncanny abilities !

2005 filly playing with "Chopper"

Del Lydian's sire, Lydian,  was a great race horse ! He was raced overseas before coming to the U.S..   Northern Dancer, (her Great Grandsire), set a record at the Kentucky Derby that has only been broken once ! And he was only 15.2 hds !

His stud fee started at $10,000 with live foal guarantee, and within a few years went to  $1 million with no guarantee !

Half brothers, of Lydia, have sold for over $ 100,000.00 as yearlings !

Lydia is a "Blue Blood" !  Some people would call her a "Blue Hen"!

Check out All Breed Pedigree for photos and info on many of her ancestors!

**See Photos of her 2007 foal on the For Sale page**

Lydia is bred for a May 2008 foal!  (I hope this one is a boy!!)

Our new mare!!!

Missy Moon Skip

She is a granddaughter of Zippo Pine Bar.

Missy is "cow" horse all the way! Check out her pedigree!

(at  www.allbreedpedigree.com)

She is the sweetest thing! The first time I met her, I wanted her. It took me two years to get her.

 My husband likes this one!

Our plans are to cross her with Bay Kee Bars for some really good cow horses!!!
